How to write a letter to the editor? We Answered:
- Your address goes on the top right hand corner, with a date (day, month and year) underneath that.- Have the editors address on the left hand-side. Place that one line underneath from the date on your right hand address.
- Start with Dear sir/madam
First paragraph :
- NEVER start with "I'm witting to you because of ...." or "My name is ...." Say what prompted you to contact the editor like, "I was blown away by your article on _____" Say why, then introduce yourself.
Second paragraph :
This has to be your main chuck. Think of your letter like a sandwich : the first, and last paragraphs are the bread, and the middle paragraph is the filling. Don't hesitate to make sub paragraphs in your second one either. The longer, the better even if you talking nonsense. In this you should say why you feel you should contact the editor, why you feel so strongly about your reasoning, and talk about an experience you had, that you associate with your feelings about why your writing to the editor.
Third Paragraph :
This is where you finish up. Tie up all your points. Thank the editor for reading your letter. This paragraph doesn't need to be anymore than two or three lines.
Ending :
NEVER, ever, EVER finish with "Yours sincerely" in a formal letter like a letter to the editor !! It should always be "Yours Faithfully, (with a capital "F") and underneath yours, write you name. Like this :
Yours Faithfully,
Jane Doe.

How would one write a letter to the editor over anti illegal Immigration without sounding like a racist? We Answered:
Speak about laws, money, financial strains, effects on schools and education, deportation policies, Congressional actions (or lack of), etc. As long as you do not mention or target specific nationalities, language groups, ethnicities, or races it will be fine. Keep it to the point - its a legal and civil concern.
