From the heart.

Things colleges like to see are circumstances that make you different from the other applicants. They want their student body to be diverse. They want to see what kind of personality you have and see if you fit their school's personality.

I've written in my personal statements about my father and my relationship, my experience with cross country, my family circumstances (family members in prison, etc.), among other things.

Just write from the heart. Get it proofread by a bunch of people. And you should be fine =)

I think if it time to break out your creativity and say 'mea culpa' like you really mean it.

My take would be that you did something fairly bad, got caught, and your teacher wants real contrition.

Maybe she used the word 'statement' in error (as, I, too, would have opted for a couple of sentences) or maybe she was over-ruled by her boss.

In any case, it seems like you need to elaborate on why you know it was a mistake and that you feel remorse and that they have your word that it will not happen again.

You can talk about your error in judgment to start with.
You might apologize if you initial statement came across as too brief but that you were under the impression that what was required.
Since it is not, you want to elaborate about your very sincere regret at doing the wrong thing: Take responsibility
-you cheated
-you didn't learn what you could have had you done the work
-you violated the rights of another student
-you disrespected your teacher

-say you realize that you have undermined the schools trust in you and ask if there is a way that you can regain it

-assure them that you are ashamed of what you did, it was ill conceived and will not happen again

if any of what I have said comes close to the truth, you should have no trouble elaborating so that you have a fairly comprehensive apology

Do not think they will.
What you did is illegal. Period.
They cannot place you back into work.

Do not admit to anything.
Write ASAP a really good letter resigning from your position and explain how grateful you are for the experiences you learned while employed there.
Now...change gears and get over it.
You will not be able to use this job as a reference.
You will have to locate another job without using this last one.
It's ok, you have grown very much from this lesson.

You don't! Never never never contact a judge directly for any reason. It would get you in a whole lot of shi* and make your friend look very bad. He will be getting a lawyer or one will be appointed for him so wait until that happens. Then you contact that lawyer and give him your information. If he thinks it will help his client he will use it. Good luck to you and your friend!!

You kind of did do something wrong. If the car in front of you did stop short and you rear ended them one of two things occurred. You were not paying attention or you were following too close, either one makes the accident your fault. I am not sure what excuse would mitigate your behavior.
