How To Write A Letter To Your Boss

Matthew Said:

How to write a letter to senior in the company to report your boss constantly on cocaine at work?

We Answered:

I would not write a letter.

I'd go have a confidential conversation with a supervisor or someone in human resources.

Thomas Said:

Do you have to write your boss a letter when quitting a job?

We Answered:

It's not required, but its' a good idea. There are lots of web sited that will help you write one.

Make it a classy letter; it only needs to be three sentences:

1) I'm leaving in two weeks.

2) I appreciate having had the opportunity to work here (yadda yadda yadda).

3) I will help you in any way I can to help in this transition period.

The first sentence declares your intent. The second is either mere politeness or the truth. The third identifies you as a team player and points out that your job has worth.

The point is this: this letter will become part of your permanent employment record at that company. It is your chance to get in the last word.

In the future, when a prospective employer contacts the drug store, they will go to the file and find a classy professional letter: yours.

Chris Said:

How do you write a letter to your boss about reduction of hours since these busy people prefer it in writing.?

We Answered:

Dear [Boss],

I apologize for asking once again for a reduction in my hours, but it would make an enormous difference both to my own health, to my performance at work and to the welfare of my family if my hours could be adjusted so that I do not work until 12.30 am. I had not realized the full impact of trying to snatch some sleep with lively children waking me up early in the morning wanting their breakfast and it is not possible to have a nap later in the day with three children to care for. If it could possibly be arranged for me to work 21 hours instead of my current 24, I feel that this would make a difference.

Thank you for considering my request.

Yours sincerely,

Randi

By the way, isn't the correct time 00.30 am?

Victor Said:

How to write a letter to your boss saying u wish to step down from your position?

We Answered:

Although it depends on your relationship with your boss, I feel that being straightforward and clear about what you want to do with your career is the best way. At the same time, you need to be polite about it.

First, thank him for giving this current opportunity to you. Then explain why you don't wish to continue. I am sure he will understand.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Shim
p.s. I suggest you speak face-to-face before dropping in the mail.

how to write a letter to your boss asking for time off?

What is the reason you need off

Mabel Said:

How to write a letter to ask for a recommendation from your fired boss?

We Answered:

If you did not have a direct working relationship with this person, no. They don't know you.

If you did- sure, ask away. But, let go of ANY explanation about why he was let go- not your business to speak about at all.

I don't thinking working with him one one project warrants asking for a letter of recommendation. Maybe ask your direct supervisor instead.

Discuss It!
