Holly Said:

Will you write your US Senator and US Congressman?

We Answered:

I wouldn't know how to write something with the dynamics that you just voiced therefore I will cut and paste and add a comment of my own for backing your voice.

Frank Said:

GUYS....Can you give me the answers? I need your opinions please?

We Answered:

Hey..
You and I should seriously talk because there might not be anyone else on here who could help you with this like myself.

I suspect he's frozen and doesn't know what to do. He has a wife and young children, it's pretty unlikely he'll leave them for you.. trust me on this please.

You and I need to talk because 17 years ago I was in just the same place as your b'friend. He's married and I'm sorry you fell in love with him. He's going through a very confusing time in his life and had no right to drag you into it. It will be very very hard but you should leave it alone.. and let him go. You need to put distance between you.. the kind of distance that comes with time

I fell in love with someone and we had an incredible summer together that neither of us will ever forget. But at the end of the day... I stayed and raised my family. She has moved on.. married, and is happy. I never left and am happy with that choice.

I truly feel for you. Contact me if you want to discuss further.. I will respond. You really need to let it go.. for the both of you and for the sake of his children as well.

I miss my old teacher terribly, what should I do?

We Answered:

Add her. It's not creepy at all. Half of my facebook friends are former students and are now my real friends (though we don't see each other socially, what with the being half my age). Teachers can impact lives in so many ways, and I can tell you that if she didn't cry when she read your letter, she's dead inside. We love to hear that we impacted a student, be it immediately or 20 years down the road. [Cute story: my son's pre-school teacher is a former student who told me she went into teaching because of me!]

Should rappers have pension plans?

We Answered:

Hey Sis,
I'm a Benefits Manager with a University and part of my job is Retirement Coordinator. This is the biggest issue that people are facing as society ages. I don't think a Pension Plan in the traditional sense is right for rappers. As Pension Plans are defined, the employer guarantees a defined benefit at the age of 62 (in most states) based on the the top three salaries and funds invested. This is impossible to gauge for rappers. I do, however, think that EVERYONE, including rappers should invest in a 401(k) or 457(b) (if possible). These are defined contribution plans in which the investor determines how much to contribute up the IRS limit.
It would be impossible for record companies to operate a match plan for either type of plan as they typically involve a vesting schedule (3 to 5 years in a either a graded vesting or cliff vesting set up) and you and I both know some rappers are simply not around long enough to benefit from something like that. Not to mention, these types of plans are being phased out because it's expensive and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires payment at retirement whether or not the company has the funds to cover it.
Basically, like everyone else, retirement savings should not be taken lightly and should be determined by the individual.
Great Question!
