What country? US? He cannot apply for an employment visa. Only employers can apply. You would have to be hiring him on a full-time employee basis at a stipulated salary, not on a freelance, short-term basis. It would take you about a year to get him a visa now, and cost you $5000-15,000 to do all the legal necessities - the lawyer won't be cheap!

However, why do you need a bilingual photog for shooting a clothing line? There is no real justification for it. Furthermore, there is an abundance of professional photographers, especially established fashion photographers, in the US. I cannot see any way that you can justify getting an employment visa for such a person.

If you want to bring in a Richard Avedon-caliber renowned photog for one photo shoot, you have to get him the visa for visiting artistes. Assuming the person is sufficiently world-renowned to qualify, and you can prove it (e.g. his fashion photo shoots for Vogue magazine or the like), it will cost you more than $15,000 to do the legal rigamarole, and he will be allowed to enter long enough for a photo shoot - i.e. a few days only. If he does not leave on time, you are on the hook and in b-i-g trouble.


Clearly, you are looking for a way to bring in a specific person who really is not qualified to enter or else you are not really qualified to sponsor. Don't bother trying to get around regulations with excuses like those presented here. They will not fly. Hire a professional photog in the country you are in (e.g. US or wherever you are).
