I am almost 18, and looking back on my younger self I don't think I would care what my hobbies were or my favorite color, or anything like that. A letter like that would read:

Dear Me,
I love rollerblading, and chocolate, and the color blue.
Sincerely,
Myself

Oddly, the letter is about me but it seems grossly impersonal.

I would write something about my goals, aspirations, where I plan to be when I'm 30 (just to make sure I am still on the right track). I would ask myself questions, and give myself whatever advice I think I would need on my 18th birthday. This would read more like:

Dear Me,
Thanks for always being there for me. I hope you are still working hard in English class so that you can become an inspirational writer someday. What college are you going to? Are you excited? If I were you (and I am), I would stop stressing out over all the little things, and try to focus on the big picture.

I hope this helped you decide what is important to put in your letter. You might even what to include a quote you really like or a memory that you want to remember. (They get pretty jumbled in high school.) Good luck!
