How To Write A Good Letter

Theresa Said:

How can i write a good letter to the court reduce my speeding ticket and take points off my license?

We Answered:

You can't. It's very rare for the Court to consider reducing the bail amount for a traffic ticket upon receiving a letter. Your chances are better (but still not great), if you show up and give your explanation in person. Also, in California at least, the Court cannot reduce the number of points that go on your record. If you are convicted (or plead guilty) the DMV assigns the number of points that go on your record. However, the Court can allow you to attend traffic school (once in an 18-month period in CA) and the violation is not reported to your insurance company.

How can i write a good Letter to Show love to my brother?

We Answered:

I did this for a friend once. You want it to convey that you love them, but not be overly sentimental or cheesy. So I wrote: 10 Reasons Why I Love Celeste (my friend)

1. You're one of the kindest, most generous people I know
2. You're always there for someone in need
3. You buy me presents, not for any special occasion, but just because
[ . . . ]
9. You sometimes bring me sandwiches
10. You get upset when someone misquotes Harry Potter

. . . .etc. Put some genuine ones in there, and some funny ones. It's touching, humorous, and shows how much you care.

it better be handwritten and write down how you feel about her. it does not have to be something from google. Just how you feel and what she means to you is what is important

How to write a good letter to my head manager?

We Answered:

My recommendation would be to write as formal a letter as you can. This will help underscore your professionalism and seriousness about wanting additional hours.

This would be my approach:

Date

Person's name
Name of company
Company address
City, State, Zip

Dear Ms/Mrs./Miss Soandso:

I wish to thank you for the opportunity to work with you at [name of company]. I have learned a lot during my short time here, and I am eager to expand my job skills as a [your job title].

With this in mind, I would like to request an additional 8 hours a week. I understand the current situation of the economy, but I would like you to consider my request in light of the effort I have put for to this time and the quality of my work.

I am presently scheduled for 16 hours a week. As I have stated, I enjoy my work very much, but I am finding it difficult to get by on such a limited schedule.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of my request. I look forward to discussing this matter at your earliest convenience.

Respectfully yours,

Your name

One last thing, if you can explain how giving you an extra 8 hours a week would not place a financial burden on the company, that would be even better (and should go in the second paragraph). For example:
"The majority of my time is directly billable, so requesting an additional 8 hours a week should not present a financial hardship to the company." Or, "Most of my time is spent in support of the sales department. Often times, there is a backlog of projects waiting to be done for this division, so I believe giving me an additional 8 hours a week could actually help remedy this situation."

Good luck.

Proposals regarding the building of a new hospital in Oakwood Park.

Dear Sir,

The local press has announced the fact that the council proposes to build a new hospital on the land in Oakwood park.
As the secretary of the local Residents' Association I have been asked to convey the general dismay caused by this proposal.
Whilst there is no doubt that the present hospital has become a positive embarassement, due to its age and limited size, and it needs replacing by a modern structure, the choice of this location is a grave error and shows a total lack of foresight.
To start with the site is highly unsuitable for such a huge development which necessitates a much larger piece of land as it is bound to expand. The Victorian Ophthalmic hospital is also outdated and impractical, and it is known that the powers that be intend it to be transferred to the same site as that of the proposed general hospital.

Oakwood Park is the only green space that the town possesses and the lungs of Extown. It is the only place where families can take their children to play, where senior citizens living near-by can get fresh air and relief from an already over-built town-scape, and where people can run and exercise, or exercise their pets, safely.

It is used for all sorts of events from fairs to money raising events for various good causes and offers a wonderful setting for outdoor theatre performances in the summer.

It harbours all sorts of wildlife: residents report the existence of bats, hedgehogs, pine martens, red squirrels and other protected species. We are given to understand that the pond would be emptied and the central buildings would stand over the area where it is at the moment. A considerable amount of birds both native and migrants from elsewhere in Europe frequent that stretch of water and shelter there.

The park is accessed via one of the busiest roads leading to the commercial centre of the town and traffic in the area is already stretched to full capacity. A hospital in that location would add to the permanently congested traffic.

The proposed buildings, beside their ugliness and multiple storeys, will blight the perspective from hundreds of houses on the hillside behind the Park. The hospital incinerator will also disgorge smoke and fumes all day long polluting the air within a wide area.

It is generally felt that a site outside town, away from the town centre, with views over the countryside, ample parking space and easy access to the motorway would immensely be better for all concerned whether patients, staff or visitors.

A petition has already gathered several hundreds of signatures since the news leaked out, and is bound to attract many more protesters. It will be sent both to the Chief Executive Officer and the Department of the Environment. Our local MP also supports the views of the town and will raise the whole issue at Question Time in the House of Commons. A demonstration attended by many of the town's personalities is due to take place in the park in the near future and will be covered by the national press.

We strongly recommend that the council should listen to the local taxpayers' demands that these plans should be shelved, and that it should actively seek another site where it will become an asset rather than a blight for the town.

Yours faithfully,

Fred Bloggs
