Free Letter Writing Books

Caroline Said:

Does anybody know of any free online writer's groups or forums for aspiring or new writers?

We Answered:

http://absolutewrite.com/forums/index.ph…

This site has a freelance writing board for people whose goal is the same as yours, paid publication of nonfiction articles. Many of the regulars sell regularly. There are also boards for every kind of novel imaginable, including critique boards where people know what they're talking about.

And yes, there's a board dedicated to query letters and synopses--harder than writing the books, IMO.

Julia Said:

what is the secret to getting acceptance for the free grants you can ask for simply by writing a letter?

We Answered:

I'm sorry. There is not such thing as "just free"

Grants are government money. You can't simple write a letter saying you need one. If that were the case, everyone would be getting grants, regardless of their need or not. A need based grant is given based on the financial information given on your FAFSA form. If you would like or need a grant, you need to talk to your school.

At my school, I can't ask for certain financial aid. I'm given what I'm given based on my need. There are a few merit based grants. But, you usually have to qualifty for those in scholarships or applications, or you will recieve one if you are on the dean's list.

But, no........you just can't write a letter and get one. This is government issued money, they don't just hand it out to anyone.

Hi!

¡Hola!
Gracias por permitirme quedarme con ustedes. Estoy muy entusiasmada por mi viaje. Entonces ¿ustedes quieren saber sobre mí? Bueno, tengo 16 años y me encanta divertirme.

It's an interpretation

I hope this helps

Carlos Said:

Is it legal in Canada and USA, to scan and publish books (for free viewing) that are no longer in print?

We Answered:

Copyright for printed works belong to the publisher and the author or, in the case of death, the heir. You cannot legally copy someone else's work, even if the copyright is no longer registered, until it enters the public domain. For example, my website is copyrighted, but not registered, the moment that it is created on my computer at home. No one is *legally* permitted to copy it, even though I have not registered it. Lack of registration only puts the onus on me to prove authorship in the case of a legal claim. If I had registered the copyright, such registration would act as proof (making it easier for me to sue).

Read my cover letter...I want to work in a library...PLEASE critic, etc.?

We Answered:

That sounds fabulous, you've really marketed yourself well. You've done an excellent job showcasing the different assets and abilities you posses, and have accurately related the to the job that they're asking for you to do. It looks as if you've really done your research - good job!

And, as a side note, I was born in Maple Ridge, so I got a good laugh out of reading the location. Good luck with your application, I hope you get the job!
