Email Letter Writing

Wilma Said:

If I'm writing a complaint to a company should i send a email or letter?

We Answered:

I would send the letter through the mail; send it priority or certified; this way it tells the recipient that you mean business before he or she even opens the letter.

Terrence Said:

Is writing letter with email and without email is good or bad?

TWO FACTS:

YOUR QUESTION MAKES NO SENSE SO CAN'T BE ANSWERED.

When writing a letter or email to ask for an internship etc at a local paper what kind of this would I write?

We Answered:

First, bypass the human resources department. On most newspapers, the editor determines his/her department's needs and, frankly, newspaper editors are independent cusses. They do not like another department making decisions for them.
That said, compose a letter to the editor or managing editor (the department's second-in-command) starting that you are interested in becoming an intern. Briefly outline what you can do and your background, especially if you've had any journalism or writing courses in school. If you have any samples of articles that were published, include copies.
If you haven't any samples, tell the editor you want to work for the newspaper to gain newsroom experience because you want to be a journalist when you graduate.
See where it goes. Follow up with a telephone call, talk to the editor's secretary (who usually knows everything about what's going on in the office), and ask for an interview. Be persistent.
Because of economic conditions, some newspapers have cut down on hiring interns. Some take on young people without pay. If that happens, my advice is to take the position anyway. It's a foot in the door and people at the paper will remember you when there's an opening.

Help with email/letter writing?

We Answered:

Your sicerely and yours faithfully is used for formal letters, Kind regard is used for semi formal, Many thanks is not a good way to to end a letter, perhaps you can use it within the letter then use one of the others to end the letter.
With emails you can still use as above if to an important company, or just keep it simple for all others as kind regards, or Thanks......
