Does that make sense? I think it would be easier for the reader if you lay it out like this.

Here's a cheat sheet I use myself that has some common business letters writing expressions and rules that you might find useful.

I've left the link for you in the source list from which you may download it for free.

And as for a model, if you mean template, it depends what kind of letter you need and then searching for that kind of letter should bring up some results on the web.

The correct (or at least most common) format for you truck would be "1988 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z-71"
Including the VIN is a good idea as well. Yes the Z-71 package was an option in 1988. Researching your VIN would be a sure way to find out if your Z-71 is "real" hope this helps.
