Dawn Said:

Some tips on writing to soldiers please!?

We Answered:

Yes first of all don't say " Dear John"
Writing a soldier at that time was very mild in comparison to what the language usage is today. There was an enormous amount of respect then. Get a book of those times and it will help you learn how to speak.
But try telling him about what is going on back in the States, from his local hometown, and light hearted things, that is what we all like to hear, nothing drastic or serious about stressful things. Tell him about the plans at city hall to build a new library, or a new football field at his high school, Tell him all his friends want to see him come home safely and in one piece. Other than that ask him to tell you if he needs anything and can you help in anyway? That will encourage him to write back.

Emailing or writing soldiers in Iraq?

We Answered:

Operation Dear Abby is still there but through online, just type it in. It was stopped going by mail because of anthrax scares.
