There's no statute of limitations where 1st degree murder is concerned, so it wouldn't be safe to write about a murder committed unless you've already been tried and acquitted for that murder (double jeopardy). Since I'm not a lawyer, I don't know if the book would be admissible evidence in a court of law. Logically I would consider an autobiography in which you admit to a murder to be a written confession, but the law isn't always logical.

Some lesser crimes have a statute of limitations (an act passed by a legislative body prescribing the time period during which legal action can be taken) and after that period is passed nothing can be done to the criminal.

start out with ur name, date of birth, place born, mother father names, siblings, schools u attended, events that stand out in ur life. To make it all easier and organize ur thoughts, make a simple timeline on a scratch paper..it will help u alot!!

Start by approaching the birthday , state the age, and being full of expectation as to what it might bring. Go on the the present you got being the last thing that you expected. State why it had so much affect upon you to completely change your life.
Bring in some how that it had a good feeling within you that improved your scholastic abilities from then, and now, down to the present test.

Keep it simple do not over elaborate.

People want to read biographies and autobiographies of famous people, people who have done something great or infamous/scandalous. Famous leaders (Presidents, Prime Ministers) revered hockey players, famous directors (Alfred Hitchcock), famous inventors (Alfred Einstein), famous musicians, poets, discoverers (Marco Polo), artists and the list goes on.

Go to your local bookstore and see if you can find a biography about someone who has not made their mark. When has anyone ever rushed to purchase a book about someone who nobody knows?

Feel free to write your biography any way you'd like and write it for you and your enjoyment. If by some less than remote chance a publisher is interested, then you can have that dialogue regarding real names or not.

Sorry to be so abrupt, but as an author myself it is just not as easy as people think.
