Writing Activities For Kids

Gregory Said:

What are some good activities for reading/writing for kindergarteners during language arts centers?

We Answered:

A fun game /activity is a matching game of any sort. for instance matching cards for rhyming words. or matching picture to words. Students love matching games. there is also a reading and language centers book where you put the activity together. Its already in the book just cut out it its really good. They have for all subject genres. Its really neat.

What are some fun activities for teaching kids about computers?

We Answered:

There are lots of web art that they can perform and if you can teach them "Basic", you can show them how programming works and what type of graphics they can perform using Basic. There are other sources also. This might be useful: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Student…

Any ideas on fun problem solving activities for a writing lab?

We Answered:

How about you write out a mystery story and use one of those "12 days of Xmas" type story boards where you have to tear open the panels. In order to solve the puzzle they have to read the story and choose the flap with the correct word, except using words which sound similar but have different meanings. Except & accept, wooden and wouldn't, affect and effect.

If you want to do it simply just write it on a whiteboard and cover the words you want them to choose between with sticky notes.

Have them record their picks and the team with the most correct wins the mystery prize at the end of the story. You better hope there isn't a ten way tie.
