I was watching 20/20 a couple of months ago and they had a segment on a guy named Mike Byster. Mike has one of the fastest mathematical minds in the world according to experts. I was seriously impressed at not just how good Mike was at math, but how effectively he was able to teach grade school kids some of his methods in only an hour's time.

Just to give you an example Mike would ask the kids (about 10 yrs old) "What is 61 divided by 91?" In under 5 seconds they were able to come up with the answer: .6703296, just from doing the calculation in their heads. Here's the video clip: http://image.exct.net/members/58718/oneQ…

According to his website his program can be useful from kindergarten level to adult. The program consists of 15 DVDs and workbooks. I will warn you that the full cost of the program is around $180, but once you see these sample videos and other samples from his homepage you will see that it is not only totaly worth it for your son, but you'll want to learn it too.

Also, the great thing about all this is that it helps to vastly to improve memory when it comes to things that have nothing to do with math.

If in either case the death of the child is a given, then it becomes imperative to save the greatest number of equally innocent people, i.e., you, your family, your neighbors, and the people who are harboring all of you.

The person who prevents the child from crying by suffocating him or her will have to live with the knowledge that a child had to die at his or her hands to prevent the slaughter of many other innocent men and women. I would imagine that it would be impossible to resolve the guilt one must feel for causing the death of another, particularly a child, no matter the circumstances.

I have no doubt that this is a morally defensible position. The other people whether adult, teen aged, or children are also innocent human beings whose lives are of equal worth and value. If in either case this child will die, then it makes no sense to capitulate to evil and sacrifice all their lives to the Nazis.

wow! that was surprisingly fascinating. i enjoyed that. i would not for any reason at all ever place my hand over its mouth. Because, since it was already crying, there is a chance the NAZI's heard you anyway. And will find you anyway. So would you kill your own kid with your bare hands or have someone else kill it? i think i would comfort the kid. Shove a binky in it's mouth :p I'm just kidding. Even though every parental unit with a kid ha binkys now! Cause in my opinion, there is a chance they can hear you either way.
