Matthew Said:

If you were writing a resume after changing careers, how would you choose which format to use?

We Answered:

I can bring my resume over for you to see. You should include all of the above in different locations on the resume. There should be a place for all relevant background, and some that isnt relevant. You never know what the employer is looking for. I'll bring a copy of mine over that you can keep and look over as a reference. I also have a lot of books on resume writing I can dig out.

Wilma Said:

How do I go about getting a resume writing/business card business off the ground?

We Answered:

I'd start on local college campuses. These individuals are most likely to need your services if you talk yourself up to be a unique, qualified individual. Most college students find themselves frustrated with the lack of advising and attention they receive as individuals, and they are at their most vulnerable since they will soon be moving into the "real world". Start with simple flyers around campus and online posts on college related websites.

Stay at home mom needs help writing resume?

We Answered:

I would leave it out of your resume, unless you plan on applying for jobs that use the skills that a stay-at-home mother uses, ie. nanny/house keeper.
otherwise leave the resume as work experience only, and say in your cover letter that you've been raising your family for the past 3 years, and are eager to return to the workplace.
