Writing A Reference

Sergio Said:

What writing reference book do you prefer?

We Answered:

"The Elements of Style", by William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White, is short and to the point and has become a classic.

The reference book I use most is "The Handbook of Good English," by Edward D. Johnson. The only problem with Johnson's book is that it has no index, but it covers most of the grammar, punctuation, and usage questions that come up.

Another resource is the English-grammar forums on the Internet. Just type in keywords like "English grammar forum" and look at a few sites before choosing one you like.

Must and employer write a reference and are there any government guidelines on writing references?

We Answered:

If you are claiming constructive dismissal NO employer is going to give you a reference and I would suggest you wouldn't want them to either.
