Write A Poem

Victor Said:

I had to write a poem for my class assignment, is this good enough?

We Answered:

I liked your poem so much I had to sign in to comment.

I just think you have to change "them hands" to "those hands" since nowhere else do you use slang.

Either you pepper the poem with slang in many places or keep it free of slang. Don't just use one instance.

I like your parallelisms.

Ethel Said:

can someone help me write or at least start a poem about determination?

We Answered:

The best way to approach this one might be to picture the person, in the moment in which he is most determined, and describe how you would know, looking at him, that he is determined:

Mouth set in a grim, hard line

Hands clenched, knuckles white

Leaning forward, as if into a contrary wind

Striding forward, his feet a steady rhythm

Anyhow, you'll get some excellent ideas just by picturing the man in the moment, then writing down what you see. Then its a matter of rewriting the observations inside your rhyme scheme.

Good luck!

Doris Said:

Poets or ppl who like to write poems when is your poem finished?

We Answered:

I don't think the term 'finished' is applicable to any poem - that is, unless you're the guy above me.
