Write A Cover Letter

Jimmy Said:

Need to write cover letter but don't know any names?

We Answered:

Sure, you can use the generic terms, but you will probably gain some advantage if you can find the names of people at the companies to which you are applying. Perhaps the online forms pages have a contact us link that you could use to call them (maybe they have a toll-free number) or email them. The phone call is the most efficient and most anonymous method. and it would not cost a lot.

Email leaves a "paper" trail that would be in the company's system, but that would not be bad, as it would show you care enough to get the names right. Oh, yes, when you do ask for the appropriate names and titles, also verify the spelling. Names should ALWAYS be spelled correctly.

Good luck on your internships.

Darryl Said:

Should I write a cover letter if I'm going for a job as a shop assistant/cashier?

We Answered:

a cover letter just makes your resume stand out. it also makes it look more professional. if the other resumes dont have one, yours will be a more likely candidate. also a cover letter can be very short and is easy 2 remake for the different jobs
