Middle School Writing Prompts

Need help on short essay...?

We Answered:

Intro/conclusion paragraphs should sum up what you wrote about in your essay. Intro will very briefly outline what you talk about, conclusion will briefly summarize your view point/what you've learned/the points of your essay (i hate conlcusions the most). A thesis statement is the point you are going to get across to the reader.
As for educational experiences, remember that little drawing with like, your main topic in the middle and you'd draw a circle around it and then you'd get a couple of lines off of that circle to branch off into mini topics that you could research from that topic and just kept narrowing down from there? That is always helpful, and i still use it now (in the military!). Also writing questions from what you read to help you better learn the material.
Good luck on your essay! I hope you get a good grade and that this was helpful!!

I need help with a short essay...?

We Answered:

350 words, eh? That's not too bad. Though, it sounds more like one of my bf's college homework assignments.

How about this. Remember you're favorite teacher, were there any assignments that were especially difficult that you might've learned something? Or perhaps a favorite assignment?

Your intro should introduce your thesis statement (you're main objective for writing the essay). When I write a paper, I try to think about it being a grand entrance to a distant memory or an opinion. In this case, you might want to readdress the question your teacher has asked.
When you're ending conclusion usually should wrap up all that you've talked about in the body of essay.

As for the main portion or the body of the essay, think about writing down a short list as part of an "outline" list the typical:
who, what, where, when, why, and how and list one to two words describing the main idea. Usually, when you can answer those simple things (who, what, etc.) the essay pretty much writes itself.

Hope this helps.
