However, people in conversation often do not use correct grammar. You can get away with grammatical errors speaking that would create a real problem writing. So you need to study your grammar.
Also you must study your spelling. The spelling in English is not always phonetic.
I suggest that you do as much reading as you can. This will help both with grammar and spelling.
If you can study these things as yo go along, it may be more useful than taking a course. But that depends on your own learning style.
