How Write Cv

Glenn Said:

How do you write a Writer's CV?

We Answered:

It probably depends on what you are applying for. Do put your education and and work experience/jobs on there if it's for a job you're applying. If it's for a writer's job or something related to writing definitely say any experience you have e.g. school newspapers, that sort of thing. Just lay it out like a normal CV. Under 'Interests' you might want to explain what you write and how much.
Again, it really depends what you're applying for.

How should i write a CV / resume when i've done lots of jobs in different areas?

We Answered:

It can be tricky.
If you listed every job, a potential employer could underline you as a "come and go", and won't see you as a potential committed employee. Depends what the Company is looking for in a candidate. (short term/long term etc.)

Anyway, the best way to approach this, is to bulk them together under "various contract work" between "start date" to "end date" and outline the most frequent and most relevant for the job you are applying for.

Are you in the USA? look at www.anoddjob.us may be useful if you enjoy contract/self-employment work.

Nathaniel Said:

How can I write CV when out of work for a year?

We Answered:

Don't lie. Don't tell them "I took time off to travel." Don't think you'll get the job "by making them jealous."

Be honest. Did you leave on your own, or were you fired?

If you left on your own, indicate that you were seeking to relocate to Melbourne, and perhaps other places, but didn't find what you were looking for.

You are in an exciting part of the world. There are many places where someone with your HK experience as a CPA will be very valuable. Seek out those places.

Also, be aware that you can change careers and still be involved in the business world. At age 30, you have the world before you. Just focus on your career and do what it takes to make it happen.

How to write cv with no work experience?

We Answered:

You probably have more skills and experience than you realise. What skills did you acquire at home or school that didn't involve the teacher? Did you ever have a part time job? Points of responsibility.

When you publish your cv there shouldn't be the slightest hint of negativity, every shortcoming is a valuable and marketable gift for the prospective employer. Its all in how you spin it.

If you did every little bit of homework, you are a hard worker with attention to detail... however, if you had a tendency to skip what you could get away with you were able to prioritise and probably good negotiation skills.

If you are an artist, then make a portfolio of work that you've done. Make it look professional and presentable.
