How To Write Resumes

Alberto Said:

I write very good resumes in a professional level and quality. How much should I charge?

We Answered:

these resume writers you see on monster or hotjobs will generally charge anywhere from $100-$225 per resume. if you're just starting out then I would say at least $80-$100 bucks per shot. might wanna make a "special" too for those who need a resume, cover letter and references all at once. could charge like $150 at least for something like that/

Hilda Said:

Anyone knows how I can learn to write resumes and cover letters well ? How about interviewing questions ?

We Answered:

Resumes are supposed to show your strengths and your experience in a field of expertise.
There are places on the internet like gaijin.pot that show resume style formats, but basically, you want to show your strengths first. If you are just out of college, then you want to show the schools you attended first with any awards and gpa. If you have work experience in the area you are applying, you want to show that first as well as any special awards you received while doing the job.
You want to try to keep your resume on one piece of paper if you can, and make it readable. YOu want 12 or 14 point font for the normal characters and header characters at 16 or 18 point.
You want to make your name, email, and phone number easily readable, so either make that larger or bold it.
Make sure that you put down all of the duties you fulfilled with each job, a contact manager's name and number and the dates you worked that place.
A cover letter should be sent as the first page of a resume which details your philosphy and attitude towards you work, your motivation, and how you hope to learn or help the company you are applying to.
Search resumes on the internet and go to your nearest university and ask for the job/career office which will probably be able to help you out.

Question about writing resumes and cover letters?

We Answered:

Instead of making broad, generalized statements, a resume and cover letter should reflect the position you are seeking.

Some larger companies receive so many resumes that they scan them into the computer and have the software pick out key words--the resumes that don't contain those words are weeded out.

It is a lot more work to do it this way, but employers need to see that your experience and training are relevant to the position they advertised, otherwise your resume may not even be seen.

Good luck
