How To Write Poems
Arlene Said:
Can someone give me some advice on how to write a good poems? We Answered:
Read a lot of poems, including poems by contemporary writers.Write a lot of poems, on as wide a range of subjects as you can find.
Be ruthless about eliminating cliches - the key to eliminating cliches is careful observation and asking yourself all the time if you've picked exactly the right word, or have you just settled for the kind of word anyone would expect.
Make sure that you regularly try and write in set forms, whether it be sonnets, or ballad form, or whatever.
If you're not familiar with the different forms - types of metre and stanza and so on - buy yourself a copy of 'The Ode Less Travelled' by Stephen Fry. You don't have to do the exercises in it, but you do have to do exercises / practice, a lot.

How do you write poems about life, death, teacher and education? We Answered:
well look up the words then brain storm and come up with your own definition then you'll get it.Isaac Said:
How do I tell him he can't write poems for me anymore? We Answered:
Just tell him that you appreciate his poetry, but it is beginning to make you feel uncomfortable since he has begun to write so many for you. Tell him that you are in a relationship, and you don't think that your bf would appreciate him giving you poetry all of the time. Tell him that you are, however, very flattered, and that someday he will make some girl very happy with his sensitivity.Brad Said:
I wanna write poems but should I worry about the format of the poem?We Answered:
Use all the words on the edge of your vocabulary.Don't find it necessary for everything to rhyme. Many dreadful poems are put together with words simply because they rhyme.Anyone can write such drek.Write about anything-what you see out your window, whatever.Regards,BKBecky Said:
Why can't I write poems like I used to and how can I fix it?We Answered:
Part of this may well be a growth in your expectations of yourself. Something worth trying is to look back at some poetry from your creative period. I did this recently, and I was surprised to discover that work of which I had been quite proud now seemed lacking. Play with something you wrote, and try to make it better. This will give you a sense of how your ability has grown, and it will also help you revisit some ideas that inspired you before.Beyond that, patience and attentiveness will be key. Forcing yourself to write poetry you don't care about won't get you too far. On the other hand, observing constantly the world around you can help. Jot down notes if you see something interesting, or react to something in a surprising way. If William Carlos Williams can find inspiration for a great poem in a red wheelbarrow, you can find something at least worth writing about in your everyday life.

How can I write poems for people in exchange for donations to the food bank?We Answered:
you could go to a mall or get a major department store on board and set up a booth.I would call the media and get lots of buzz about it ... make it an event.
Ask for donations from HP or something like that and a company that provides picture frames.
Or if you have nice hand writing do it up that way and frame it for the giver.
