How To Write Books
Minnie Said:
What are some good books to learn how to write better like grammar? We Answered:
Congratulations on your dream to become a writer! Maybe someday, our work will be sitting side-by-side in the bestseller's section at the bookstore! There aren't many books that can help you with grammar/punctuation, really (the best thing for that is probably a spellchecker), but I do have some author recommendations:
Rick Riordan
Cynthia Kadohata
Erin Hunter
Stieg Larsson
Brian James
J.K. Rowling
Libba Bray
Cassandra Clare
Good luck! =)

How did Helen Keller write books and letters and such things? We Answered:
She could write and stuff like that. She used the braille language that is designated for people who are blind and canno see anything. It was frustrating, but she was able to develop those skills.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Kelle…

Why is everyone trying to write books these days?We Answered:
Leah, the problem is that people only see the big name authors and think that writing is the "easy" way to celebrity. There is a misconception that anyone can pick up a pen and write a book, and that if you publish a book you will get rich. Sadly, the majority of these so-called writers don't even like reading. And it shows in their work.Writing is both a craft and a passion. You are right when you say a true author is borderline obbessive when it comes to their work. It becomes our baby. It becomes part of what we are. It is not just something we do.
But it is also a craft, and people fail to realize that like any craft it requires dedication and hard work. Half these people don't even have the dedication to bother searching to see if their question has already been answered 500 times when they ask "How do I publish my book?" If they are so lazy that they can't use the search function or go to the library, they have no business killing trees for paper.

Hi, I'm 15 and I love to write books, how can I gat my books published? We Answered:
Three years ago, when I was 13, I had a dream of getting published. Since then, I've been working hard at achieving my dream, and let me tell you, it's not easy but certainly possible, and don't let anyone discourage you in trying! Why am I so confident? I actually got published at the age of 16.
My name is Michelle Izmaylov, 16-year-old published author of Dream Saver. I was published by Mercury Publishing House (www.mercurypublishinghouse.com), but the road there wasn't easy. Let me warn you—it's no easy matter. It's a rough ride from typing a manuscript to holding your own novel, but it's possible—considering, of course, that you're ready to try and fail and try again.
First of all, you've got to watch out for sharks in the water. Most of the publishers I found were self-publishers in disguise. 'Self-publish' means a company that will charge you money to get your book onto the market and into stores—or so they say. They feed you fancy lies topped off with whipped cream, icing, and sprinkled nonsense. No self-publish company will ever get your book into any major bookstores such as Barnes and Noble, simply because major retailers don't deal with self-publishers. The big bookstores know that self-publishers publish anything and everyone—trash and fantastic works alike. They won't risk taking a bad book into their stores when Scholastic is putting out bestsellers by the dozen. So watch out for them. They'll take your money and sell you your own book without making you a big-ticket item. So skip the self-publishers.
The guys you really want to work with are traditional publishers. These guys only take the best of the best and publish your book for free (often, they even pay the author in advance for the manuscript). Traditional publishers are hard to get to, but don't give up until you get in. To get through to these guys, you might want to have a literary agent represent you because most traditional publishers don't request unsolicited manuscripts.
Once you've weeded out the bad guys, it's time to start mailing query letters to traditional publishers. The key words here are don't give up. Even after I had 250 refusals stashed up in my inbox, I still kept on emailing and trying. So don't get discouraged. Remember, the road's tough, but you can overcome it!
Personally, I got in through an unconventional method. I won a short story contest sponsored by Mercury Publishing House, a traditional publishing company. Thus, my story "Bonnie" was the real reason I was published. My win gave my direct contact with the company and I worked things out from there!
For links to agents and publishers, check out my blog (www.michelleizmaylov.blogspot. com. I've also got some good tips and advice posted!
Good luck in getting published!

How do people write books? The author of Harry Potter must have been a really smart author to have written so?We Answered:
Writing long books does not require a great education. It requires two things: perseverance and dedication. You are born with the ability to write. College english classes simply enhance the ability.
Give writing a try! I'd reccommend you upload your writing on a website such as www.fictionpress.com to get honest feedback, and wrote a 'practice novel' or two before you tried to get published. The first novel is always a learning process. You also may want to look into NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November. Their website is www.nanowrimo.org .
I look forward to seeing you around on the Internet!

How do you write books that has staying-power?We Answered:
Someone like you would need to write books in the fashion of Harry Potter. There are many many followers of these books and, if you don't think so, just look at the questions on Yahoo Answers alone. Fiction needs to ring a person bell many times over. The novel needs to dwell into a person's soul and make them realize that it's only fiction, but it tends to give them a sense of deja vu and a compelling sense of familiarity, in that, they say to themselves "I've been there."Look at Frankenstein, Dracula... These books have been made into all sorts of variations in movies. All were made over and over again because people wanted more. This is why some authors created characters whom they used over and over again in difference scenarios. A good example would be the works of James Patterson and his Alex Cross character.
Do this and you've accomplished something. People will remember your name, your works. They'll set up websites and groups in praise of your name and work. Then, you can sit back and say, "I've done it. I've created something that people want and will actually pay to get."
You don't want someone to tell you how to write. You want to learn. This way you write like YOU, not someone else. The libraries and bookstores are loaded with some great works that can teach a potential writer so very much. Use them.
Good luck!
