How To Write Biography

Danielle Said:

How do you write a biography?

We Answered:

A biography is simply an entertaining story about someone's life. Include highlights from the person's life, and personal information such as date of birth, death, schooling and special accompllishments.

Look at the book and note the chapter titles. That should help you focus on aspects for emphasis in your biography.

Do searches on line and find brief biographies of writers, artists, politicians, etc. as examples. These links should give you ideas. I've included a couple of sample short biographies. I hope this helps. Best of luck with it.

How to write a biography on a historical person?

We Answered:

A biography tells the story of a life, starting with birth and ending with death or the present situation.

If you write in first person, it becomes a fictional memoir as the person doing the telling cannot give a first person account if his/her birth or death. Instead the focus would be on a specific time period.

Google his name. There is a great deal of information available on the Internet as well as in print. Many, many books have been written about the Czar and his family.

Have a theme. Have a theme to your essay, like the hardships she's gone through is a good one, and how she's conquered it all. Now, start your essay with a moving quote about hardship and overcoming difficulty, then tie the theme back into your essay at the end. It's important to not only talk about her life, but what her life and struggles mean to herself and others.

Discuss It!
