Abstract things are intangable. Truth, Love, Justice, these are all abstract terms.

Thoughts, feelings, ideas are abstract.

To be abstract you need to remove yourself from what might be considered usual and try not to be bound down with reality or literal meaning.

Try using personification, metaphors and similes, try thinking outside of the box and release from what is natural.

Think of an Abstract painting (Jackson Pollock for example) What it is? Who knows? It is abstract because the impression created is obscure and unnatural, it aims to be something while being not what it is supposed to be. (this statement is abstract)
