On your books and records, you would then recognize the income as part of gross receipts, and then take an expense for charitable contribution. (This would be on Schedule A if you are a Schedule C business).
You have to make sure that for tax purposes, you recognize income and take the deduction properly.

If you work through an organization where her donation WOULD be a deduction, the school or 501(c)3 organization should receive the donation and should write the receipt. And her name and address. and the amount of the cash.As long as all of those things are on there it should it be fine. If this is going to be something your going to be needing to do allot think about going to staples and picking up one of their receipt books that are pre-numbered.
Another good idea is jump into an H&R Block (they normally give advice for free) and ask what you have writen is ok to give. They will give you tips on whatelse you need to do if it is not suffiecant.
