He doesn't need to write a letter to the universities, he needs to fill out an application through UCAS - http://www.ucas.com/ - most universities will only accept applications that come through UCAS.

On the application from, he'll have to fill out details of his education, choose up to six courses to study, get a teacher recommmendation and write a personal statement - this might be what people have been referring to.

My advice would be to write a paragraph focusing on why he wants to study politics, and what makes him a good candidate for the course. Then I'd get him to write about why he thinks university is important, what he has to offer as a student and what he thinks he will gain from the experience. It's also a good idea to write a little bit about what his interests are outside the classroom, and what kind of things he would like to pursue outside the classroom.

I have my french orals next week. I also have to write up a 1 minute presentation, mines on my vacation, its really quite easy, but you should pick a topic you are most comfortable with. Remember to use lots of complex sentences, and i dont know if your allowed, but we can make cue cards with pics on so we know what we are saying. Don't go writing too much though, just as long as you have some good points, remember it quality, not quantity ;)

Start with a need...to draw them in. Discuss cuteness of babies or whatever but add to that the normal functions of poopage. Then go into diapers and how they conveniently catch and contain the poop. You can discuss various methods of poop control - for instance, many European countries toilet train FAST bcz diapers are not as absorbent. Some moms practice elimination training which allows the kid to run around with no diaper while mom makes frequent treks to the potty with the kid to try and 'catch' the kid in peeing/pooping action...not my cup of tea but some swear by it. Discuss convenience etc but you should also touch upon the fact that they are not too biodegradable - so they can flood a landfill (although some companies are making more earth friendly diapers.)
