Your mission could be to clarify what your future plans are. You could say how you will set out on a path of discovery through meditation, travel, volunteering, and interviewing people that you admire. Then, expand on this: where, when and how often will you take time for quiet thought? Where, when and how will you travel? Will you go on a church sponsored project in an underdeveloped country? Where and how often will you volunteer? If you are thinking maybe of teaching, you could volunteer at a school or daycare. List people that you admire and why you admire them. Then, say what questions you would ask them to help you clarify your direction in life (e.g. I will ask them what strengths and special talents they see in me). Include your values in your mission statement and goals other than future career goals, such as running in a marathon or knitting a stocking. This is a wonderful project and I'm sure with a little thought you'll do just fine. Good luck!

Mission statements are fluff. In business, your real mission is to not die of boredom while trying to make a buck and keep your employees paid.

Mission statements are supposed to provide you a little reminder every day, of what goals you have for your business, so that you can work towards those goals with everything you do. In that sense, they're just fine, but you have to realise that half a paragraph isn't going to actually earn you any dollars.

If you want to write one (just so you have one) then think about what kind of business you wish you already had. What would that business do for its staff, its customers, the community in which it's located. How would your daily business translate into a broad-sounding philosophical blurb that sounds appealing?

Unless you particularly need one for some reason, I'd spend the time working on the financial section of your business plan instead.

Strategies will help you accomplish you mission statement. Individual tactics will feed up through your strategies to accomplish the mission.

For example: You mission could be to find challenging and rewarding employment in manufacturing while raising a family in a Christian environment. One of the strategy to accomplish this mission may be to pursue an engineering degree as the University of ???. Another my be to keep your faith strong by belong to ?? religious association.

There is no right or wrong answer; is should just be a broad summary of what you want to accomplish.

you need to take initiaticve and do it yourself. Then present to your level of co-workers, let them have aome input. Then present to the higer-ups. or you can ask the higer-up to giv eyou a crack at it (which they would perfer, i'm sure, but since they are unorganized....)
Do they have a board of diorector? These are the folks who ususally are responsible for such an act.
