I started and completed college and graduate school as a working widowed parent of 3. I took the last two years of college full time and grad school full time. I never did find time to study for the GRE but managed to score well enough to get into a competitive program anyway - 200+ applicants, 12 chosen. Yeah, that was cool. I had a 3.9 undergrad and a 3.89 grad school GPA. I rarely "studied". I took notes on index cards instead of a notebook. I could grab them and review anytime I had wait time - like waiting to pick the kids up after school or at the children's doctor's visits.

My majors were not as challenging as yours are, though. The only thing that kept me on track was having a schedule. At the beginning of the year, when I got my sillabi, I made a master schedule of what was due for which class on what day. I left notes the weeks before a major due date to remind myself to prepare - that midterms were coming or a paper was due. I read in the mornings before the kids got up. I started term papers within the second month of classes. I found ways to cut down on the time it took me to do other things like pay bills, clean the house (haha, I was told that I could either have a degree or a clean house - I loved my academic advisor for that). I did manage to join a couple of on-campus clubs and was president of one of the two. We did have social functions from time to time - fundraisers and such. I also dated regularly. Oh, I had a mentor whose lifestyle was similar to my own while in school. She helped give me "how to" info that worked for me.

The thing is, if you can get organized and stay organized, cut down on the time it takes to do other things, prioritize, and fit school into your life in other ways (like the notecards), then there's no reason why you can't have a few hours on Friday or Saturday night to enjoy yourself. Schedule that into your semester. Over time, you'll get use to not having a life.

haha i like him, young and sarcastic, those are the best kinds of teachers
although, idk if a teacher can call their student a dick ^^
and he should be likeable, but still know rules and how far you can push them. but i think you've already aknowledged that, haven't you? :)
