You can be too young or too ignorant of some subjects to write about them, yes, but you're never too young to write.

As for finding an agent and a publisher, I'd do some research on your own after writing your book. Right now, don't worry about publishing. That's a long way off in the future, and I hate to say it, but realistically, it probably won't happen. Many amazing books never get published because publishers don't think they have the potential to sell. For now, just write it.

Title - What does it suggest?


Preface or Introduction - Provides important information about the author's intentions or the scope of the book. Can you identify any limitations? Has the author ignored important aspects of the subject?


Table of Contents - Shows how the book's organized -- main ideas, how they're developed (chronologically, topically, etc.)

A good reader enjoys what he reads instead of analysing everything. If he wants to analyse, you can always do it later.

You do not need to do anything. You are the writer here. Do what you want without asking.

Your story can also be cheesy as hell and still sell. Your story needs three things at the same time: (1) yours (2) well written (3) better than your silence.

I know a gal who does not have a college degree and she proofreads all kinds of documents for grammar, spelling and syntax.

It's part time work for a small publishing company nearby. When someone has something to be published sometimes they want it to be read over by someone with superior grammar and spelling and syntax.

She says it's mostly lengthily brochures, instructional sheets for appliances and other short reads.

She loves it and it provides a few extra buck each month.

Try calling some printing shops or some small publishers near you.

There is no set age for writers. Obviously, the older you are, the more life experience and "wisdom" you have. This really helps give your story some depth, and readers will more easily relate to the characters.
When you write a story, a part of you is expressed through the plot, the characters and their views on certain situations....how they deal with those situations, etc. So maturity in that respect does help.

That being said, there is a young writer named Catherine Webb. She published her first series when she was 12 or 13 (some people say 14...but you get the idea).
I have read her Horatio Lyle series and I must admit she totally blew me away. The depth of her characters, the amazing detail of the surroundings, her knowledge in chemistry and physics....then the planes and trains... (Sometimes I think she knows more than I do about chemistry...and I'm a chemistry major!)

She is absolutely incredible. I am in awe when I read her books.
You should check her out! If anyone tells you you can't write a book at 14, just use her as an example.

you dont have to start at the beginning. Just sit down, and write some points or paragraphs and see how it develops.

You need to be writing a book because theres a story you want to tell.
if you want to write a book just for the sake of writing a book and being published, then you will probably have some problems. This is generally why people have problems starting, and it shows in their writing.
