How Do I Write A Cover Letter

How to write a cover letter when submitting to an agency? We Answered:
Agents admit to almost never reading it. Care about having a great headshot and resume! Here are some tips:
-NEVER give your age. They could see you playing much younger or even much older than you actually are. Your age range is determined by the casting directors. They're the ones who let you go to the audition and hopefully call you back to audition for the producers/clients who ultimately decide on whether or not you get the job.
-NEVER say "at your earliest convenience..." You're now giving the agent/assistant an excuse not to contact you right away.
-IT SHOULD NOT COVER YOUR HEADSHOT AND RESUME! It should go behind your headshot and resume
The FIRST thing the agent should see when he or she opens the envelope is your HEADSHOT AND RESUME! Those are what get you into the door.
-You want to address it to the SPECIFIC AGENT of the division you're interested in. It makes the letter personable and doesn't lead the agent to think that your letter was one of hundreds.
-Don't talk about stuff that's already on your resume. It's cliche.
-Don't put yourself down. "I don't have much experience but...." You're already giving the agent a reason why they shouldn't sign you yet let alone meet with you.
-Don't describe yourself in adjectives "hardworking, determined, polite, friendly, etc." It's CLICHE!
Here's all you need to say:
Dear (Specific agent's name),
Hello my name is (your name) and I am currently seeking (insert either commercial or theatrical depending on the addressed agent) representation. Please find enclosed my picture and resume for your consideration. I look forward to meeting you soon! Thank you.
Sincerely,
(sign your name here with a BLUE Ballpoint pen so it's more personal)
Your name (Typed)
(xxx)XXX-XXXX
(Email address)
P.S. (type something quirky/creative and TRUE about yourself to make this concise letter stand out.)

How to write cover letter to a place with no job advertised? We Answered:
I'd highly advise on writing targeted cover letters which target specific positions. If there is a specific type of position in which you are interested in at the company but didn't have the job description, I would search online for similar jobs which may have the same job duties and write as if that position existed at your targeted company of interest. If you were aiming to write a universal cover letter which could apply to any position I believe the following breakdown of a cover letter can help greatly:
-----------------
Your Name
Address
Contact number
Date
Company Name
Address
Dear Mr./Ms./Dr
(address the letter to a general title like dear hiring manager)
Immediately available, skilled, personable, experienced and I have great passion for the profession!
(include a attention grabbing headline, bold the text)
First Paragraph:
The first paragraph should always answer these questions:
1) What is your reason for writing?
2) What types of roles are you applying for?
(include interested duties)
3) How did you hear about the organization?
4) Is your resume attached?
5) Do you believe the organization will benefit from your qualifications?
Second Paragraph:
The second paragraph should answer these questions:
1) What skills can you bring which match that within the job spec?
2) Do you have any professional accreditation?
3) Are you passionate about working there / why?
Third Paragraph:
The third paragraph should answer these questions:
1) What interests you about the organization?
2) What interests you about the types of work/duties?
3) What do you like about organization from the brief review of it?
Fourth Paragraph:
The third paragraph should answer these questions:
1) When are you available again?
2) Will you contact them and when?
3) Thank them for their time and consideration here
4) What are your contact details again?
5) Are you interested in an interview?
Yours Sincerely
(signature here)
Full Name Typed
-----------------------------------
I hope in the future you gain an interest for a specific career path you are interested in and not just any position within a organization as it will become easier to target certain specific positions.
I wish you all the best,
Hope this helped.

How do I write a cover letter for a resort job?We Answered:
Just write a letter expressing your interest and stating that you have enclosed your resume. Tell them they can reach you at your telephone number/email address whatever they prefer. Tell them that you will contact them in X period of time as a follow up. Do the letter in a formal style with a reference line. That way they can sort it faster. Keep it short and sweet and don't used any negative words. Sign it formally with a "Sincerely" or a "Very truly yours" and mind your punctuation, spelling, and proper use of caps. Don't use computer speak. This may be a test of your communication skills.
