Wow, I guess it depends on the school, because I went to one where it was 3:1 female. Of course, the college I was at was in no way famous for it's writing program. (or even particularly known for it)

Every city of significance has an adult-education department, which are sometimes also referred to as "community education".

These programs almost always share resources with the public school system and their central offices are usually located at the high school. In the case of Lansing, there are multiple high schools.

So I would recommend calling the superintendents office who would direct you to the correct location; however, calling any of the High Schools should also work.

If you have time for the internet. It doesn't matter where you are. There are several places on the internet where you can post your work and have it critisized. But if you want the face to face aproach. You should try googling it yourself.

Perhaps you could check with your high school English teachers. They may have received information on writing workshops for teens. Also, check with local colleges (call up their English departments) and writing centers. The teen librarians at your local libraries may also know of some.
