1. ask a question to your reader that relates to the book you read (like how would your life be different if you lived in another time and place?) tell where and when the story takes place. tell who wrote the story and what it is called.
2. What does where the story takes place have to do with the story? Why would the story be different if it was in another place?
3. is there anything that happened in the story that wouldn't happen in another time period (like if it's centered on technology or the way they treat some characters.)
4. How would it be different? (they would ride horses, the women wouldn't vote, they would wear snowsuits ect.)
5. ask teacher what stage set is. Did you like the story? Why? Say that the story would be different if it was in a different time/place say that just like your life would change if you lived in the character's time and place, the character's life would change if he/she lived in another time or place.

1. Grab the reader’s attention. Describe the setting (time, place, and mood) of the historical fiction novel in detail. Include the Title and author of the historical fiction novel in this introductory paragraph.
2. How does the setting tie in with the plot (main events) of the story? Why is this setting imperative (necessary) in making the events of the story happen?
3. How would the plot be different if it was in a different time period?
4. How would the story be different if it was in a different place / location?
5. Describe your “stage set” for this historical fiction novel. Include your opinion in this section of your essay. Conclude your thoughts (tie up loose ends).


What you are basically doing is a more detailed summary into 5 paragraphs.
So write a summary but while you do this EXTEND into 5 paragraphs and keep on checking that each paragraph has its own topic and is not scattered and that you answer all questions. Good luck
