Ian Said:

I Need Help Writing A Persuasive Essay On The Social Network. I'm Not Really Good With Persuasive Essays.?

We Answered:

Hello...

Exemplitory Essay: Dangers Of Social Networking For Children
In today’s technology age, computers play a huge role in our day to day lives, the Internet especially. A growing trend on the Internet these days is social networking sites, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Bebo. These sites are great for catching up with old friends and being able to communicate with people instantly without running up your phone bill. While social networking sites are ideal for adults, they are not, however, good for children.
First of all, they hinder children’s social skills. Social networking sites are said to shorten attention spans, encourage instant gratification, and make young people self centered (Derbyshire). Children today don’t know how to communicate face to face with people. They would rather text or IM their friends than even think about having a verbal conversation with them. A fine example of this is my thirteen year old sister-in-law, Abbie. One night while we were visiting my in-laws, Abbie had some of her friends from school over...

Can some 1 help me im not very good at writing Persuasive essays can some 1 help in anyway?

We Answered:

Your first paragraph should introduce the stance that you are taking on the issue you are writing about. "I believe that blah blah blah..." This is your introductory paragraph and can be as short as a couple sentences or longer depending on the complexity of your arguement and topic. You might use this paragraph to introduce the opposing point of view also. "While some may think that blah blah blah, I believe yadda yadda yadda" Once you have a good opening paragraph, list reasons why you believe what you believe and why others should agree with you. Again, it is just as important to know and mention the reasons for the opposing arguement as it is to give reasons for your own arguement. Start a new paragraph for every reason that supports your idea and before you know it, you have a persuasive essay. Your final paragraph should essentially restate what you said in the first paragraph along with a summation of your thoughts on the topic.

Norma Said:

Could you please offer me with some topics to write persuasive essays with the following modes of development?

We Answered:

why one form of school (single sex/ co-ed) is better than another
-more opprotunites in ________
-Learning styles/enviornment
-what you learn out of the class room (social skills)

what is better...movies or TV series

I am drawing a blank. what you can do is pick 2 specific things of the same topic (vacation spots, book genres, etc) then comare and contrast them (similarites and differences.)

Comparing and contrast will be the basis of your essay. you will base your form off of it. wirte the introduction. Next, spend 1 paragraph discribing one topic (but dont put similar things in unless necessary). then another one discribing the 2nd topic (avoid similarites). then the final body paragraph pointing out similarites. The final paragraph will be your conclusion.

then you can intertwine the other 3 modes of development into your paragraphs.

Good Luck!
