formal essay writing - use of questions? We Answered:
Not usually, unless you are a very talented writer who can use them properly. And depending on the level you are writing for, a teacher might take marks off for them regardless.Try to re-word your sentence in a way that makes it a statement. Do this a few times to find a word order that works. Then, if you still think that a question is the only way to go at least you'll be able to defend your position to the teacher/prof.

SAT Writing Questions (Essay)...?We Answered:
You can use editing marks you just have to make them vary legible because the people who grade it receive a copy of you essay and some times it doesn't print out clearly. You won't have that much time on your essay so it's more efficient to cross out than erase.Mary Said:
Some questions about essay writing? We Answered:
If they are your own words, then it must be put in the form of a rhetorical sentence :) however, as a question it doesn't quite make sense, perhaps putting 'Who has the authority to state that being gay is immoral, or unnatural?' so it questions the reader, however this should only be used once, because these kind of questions are usually used in formal persuasive essays. If it is your own words, no citation is needed, but if it is the idea of someone else, putting it into Works cited is fine. You should leave the introduction as a minimum, but make the points you put count- don't leave hollow opening sentences such as ' This is when...' put the essay into context etc.
