Tips on how to write a five paragraph essay?

We Answered:

Paragraph 1 - Intro, THESIS and 3 supporting points
Paragraph 2 - Talk about the 1st supporting point, go into detail
Paragraph 3 - 2nd point, detail
Paragraph 4 - 3rd point, detail
Paragraph 5 - Tie the points together, strong conclusion

Since this essay is a comparison of books, you must definitely USE QUOTES!
Also, remember that this is an essay, and you are not just retelling the story. Every statement you write must be relevant.

What are some good topic ideas for the body of a five paragraph essay regarding an event?

We Answered:

You most definitely have to narrow down what you mean by "summer vacation to California". What did you do there? How long was the journey? What'd you see on the way? When you were there, how was the weather? Were the people nice? Did you have any problems/troubles? Anything interesting or out of the ordinary happen to you?

All of those questions can be used for one of the paragraphs, and you would just elaborate on it. Also, try to make it chronological...journey/road trip (if you did that) on the way there, things you saw/did, what did you do once you were there, was it fun, activities, etc etc, then for your conclusion summarize what you've learned from this experience, etc....Just try writing with some basic plan, and I promise you, just think hard, and the words will flow.

I'm writing a five paragraph essay and I just want to make sure..?

We Answered:

Your essay should have a beginning, a middle, and an end. You want to state your theory, hypothesis or thesis first. The middle is where you address evidence for and against your argument. The end is your conclusion, based on the evidence given.

Now, every paragraph should have a beginning, a middle, and an end. One person above stated that each paragraph has its own "thought". These "thought" will be different depending on where in the essay it occurs.

A beginning paragraph- and if only a five paragraph essay it should only take one paragraph to state your thesis- should start with an introduction to your thesis. The middle would state what claims you will make, and what evidence you might cite. The end, while ending the thesis introduction, should leave your audience wanting to go onto the next paragraph.

A middle paragraph should also have a beginning, a middle and an end. You can use each paragraph for a different and distinct argument. You introduce the argument, the evidence, and make a conclusion.

The end paragraph- again, only one since this is such a short essay- should start with a re-statement of the thesis. The middle should sum up-briefly! the evidence presented. The conclusion of the paragraph and the essay is in the last sentence- so make sure it is one that makes your reader agree with your thesis and ties up any loose ends.

Hope that helps!

Good Luck!

We Answered:

just write why you support repealing don't ask don't tell. i mean, i'm sure you have reasons of your own to why it should be repealed, and not just blindly following the media.
