Writing A 5 Paragraph Essay
Renee Said:
Writing 5 paragraph essay.?We Answered:
If you criticize modern life and the American culture (or wherever you're from), you can use things you and your friends say in everyday conversation. "I'm starving!" is a hyperbole, because really, we're merely "hungry" not dying of starvation. These things slip by us, though, because we're so used to them.In your essay, you can talk about "dying to have the latest fashion," "entertainment that rots your brain," and a third topic for your three body paragraphs.

What could the outline be for a 5 paragraph essay on Solar energy? We Answered:
Paragraph #1: Introduce solar energy and tell us what it is. Then tell us what the main idea of your essay is going to be. For example, are you discussing the pros and cons? The sources/installation of solar energy? Hit three points, like a couplees pros and con (or vise versa), three sources of solar energy, three ways it is used.Paragraphs #2-4: Use each paragraph to discuss one of those points. Don't worry about any other point during each paragraph. Begin each paragraph with a catchy line about the point. DO NOT just say "Then there is <insert point>." Here's a better example: "A downside to solar energy is high installation costs." Then you can begin telling about the installation costs.
Paragraph #5: Wrap up and summarize. If this is a persuasive essay, throw in your opinion here. Draw a conclusion. Where does solar energy lie in the cost/benefit analysis? Where does solar energy come from? Do not bring in any terribly new information here.
Any data you have, USE IT! Teachers like numbers and evidence. Put it in the appropriate paragraph, not in the conclusion.

When writing a 5 paragraph essay, do you include the intro in the outline? We Answered:
You will probably include the thesis as a bullet point, but the entire thing should be an outline. No paragraphs needed.Peter Said:

I need help writing my 5 paragraph essay on the dark ages?We Answered:
Background information:The "Dark Ages" were caused by the fall of the Roman Empire and centuries of "barbarian" invasions. It was Christianity that preserved as much of civilization as possible.
The "Dark Ages" is a derogatory term for the European Middle Ages used by Protestants to trivialize and demonize the Catholic Church of the time.
A few things (in addition to leading millions upon millions to Christ) where the Catholic Church has made the world a better and brighter place are:
+ Relief from the Barbarian invasions of the early middle ages
+ Rescued Christian and pre-christian literature
+ Condemned slavery since 1435
+ Spread agricultural and animal husbandry knowledge
+ Started and protected universities
+ Sponsored and supported science and medicine
+ Created International Law theory
+ Developed and sponsored modern economic theory
+ Invented charity as we know it
+ Codified, expanded, and improved Western Law
+ Developed Western Morality
+ Created just war theory
+ Sponsored and influenced music, art and architecture
+ Developed the concept of inalienable rights
I suggest you read the book "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization" by Thomas E. Woods, Jr. http://www.catholiceducation.org/article…
Here is an article that also addresses learning, literature, medical advances, and art of the middle ages:http://www.catholicapologetics.net/dark_…
Here is what G. K.Chesterton (one of my favorite authors) says about the "Dark Ages" in his book "Orthodoxy":
And in history I found that Christianity, so far from belonging to the dark ages, was the one path across the dark ages that was not dark. It was a shining bridge connecting two shining civilisations. If any one says that the faith arose in ignorance and savagery the answer is simple: it didn't. ... How can we say that the Church wishes to bring us back into the Dark Ages? The Church was the only thing that ever brought us out of them.
With love in Christ.
