Write Summary Essay
Calvin Said:
What should I write my Antigone essay on? It can be on any topic, as long as I stay away from plot summary.?We Answered:
Well, this story is largely about two competing motives: individualism (or individual piety in this case) vs. the state's natural desire to maintain an order that it sees as ultimately benefiting society. Basically, it's a tale of civil disobedience on religious/moral and emotional grounds. So, perhaps you could investigate the issue of civil disobedience, when and whether it's ever justified, and examine Antigone as a representative of it.Diana Said:
How do I write a 1.5 page summary of an essay? We Answered:
Summaries can be confusing.1) Divide…and conquer. First off, skim the text you are going to summarize and divide it into sections. Focus on any headings and subheadings. Also look at any bold-faced terms and make sure you understand them before you read.
2) Read. Now that you’ve prepared, go ahead and read the selection. Read straight through. At this point, you don’t need to stop to look up anything that gives you trouble—just get a feel for the author’s tone, style, and main idea.
3) Reread. Rereading should be active reading. Underline topic sentences and key facts. Label areas that you want to refer to as you write your summary. Also label areas that should be avoided because the details—though they may be interesting—are too specific. Identify areas that you do not understand and try to clarify those points.
4) One sentence at a time. You should now have a firm grasp on the text you will be summarizing. In steps 1–3, you divided the piece into sections and located the author’s main ideas and points. Now write down the main idea of each section in one well-developed sentence. Make sure that what you include in your sentences are key points, not minor details.

How do you write a plot summary essay? We Answered:
A summary essay is actually quite simple. In the introduction paragraph, discuss a theme of the novel. Use general terms rather than specifically describing characters within the book. Then, in the body paragraphs (3 would be easiest), discuss the beginning, middle, and end. In your first body paragraph, introduce the characters; say their names and describe them. Show how the characters relate to one another. State the setting-- time and place. Introduce some of the conflicts in the novel. In the next paragraph, talk about how the conflicts play out and get worse. Then, in the final body paragraph, discuss how everything is resolved. In the conclusion paragraph, reflect back on the theme you mentioned in the Introduction and then reflect on the author's purpose for writing this novel.Casey Said:
How do you write an essay about the conclusion of a novel? We Answered:
Even if you're focusing on the conclusion, you can still kind of summarize. You'll need to reference/ summarize the events of the book anyway to validate your points about why the ending is appropriate or not.Christy Said:

How do you write an essay summary? We Answered:
Just take what you think are the main point of the book. Focus on cause and effect points and what happens as the story lays out. Make sure you address the main point, climax, and conclusion of the story.
