That is always the hardest part of any essay. I always write the essay first and then go back and do the intro. And struggle over that much more than the content.

But in this one you would have a lot of material to choose for lead ins. I would probably go with the fact that he was imprisoned for so long when he was innocent. What type of character would one need to stay strong under the circumstances? Use those adjectives to describe him. What happened? He was imprisioned for 20 years for the horrendous rape and murder of XXXXX (forgot her name but you know it). So your intro will briefly tell what the movie is about but you need to be descriptive so use your adjectives. You only need a few sentences.

First you need to pick your topic. After you have chosen your topic you will take your stand. Which will be in your opening paragraph.

For example-
Topic- Welfare Benefits Given to Immigrants
Your Stand- This is where you will choose a side...Welfare benefits should/should not be given to immigrants because...

Brainstorming, it is fun and will give you a direction you will want to explore for your paper. Write down everything you can think of that pertains to the main topic. When you have completed the brainstorming activity then you move on to your outline. You will usually find that during your brainstorming you will have ideas that can be lumped with other ideas. Choose which will be headings and which will be subheadings.

Now comes the fun part...you will need to come up with at least four headings and three subheadings that support the stand you have taken.

Example heading..
How giving immigrants welfare effects the economy

Now you will need to break it down a little further and add at least three supporting topics under each subheading you come up with.

Example Subheading..
Higher cost of medical
Revenue issues

After you have decided what direction you are going to take your essay in, you will then need to research to find information that supports your stand. Including information that goes against your stand and using your information to refute it. Make sure you paper flows from section to the next smoothly. Conclude your essay by restating the introduction paragraph.

Essays are time consuming but they can be fun. Have fun with it and try not to stress out over it.

the smartest kid, one with even an IQ of 200, doesnt not have what an elder person has - experience. The sheer number of years a person spends walking on Earth, gives him or her insight, wisdom that can only be gleaned from having lived long enough. Trial and error, observation, experience helps one to get to some universal truths that are timeless. These universal truths bridge generation gap. So no matter how smart I am, I will always respect an elder person's experience and try to learn from it.

It's simple really.Forget you are writing & pretend you are talking to another person.Think of what you want to say to that person & write it down,one sentence at a time.Rushing into it headlong only confuses you.As I said,think out each sentence before you write it down.
