If the point of the essay is your ability to convey directions, I think it would be easier to pick something that many people can relate to.

Example: How to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Your outline would be something like this....

1. Open the bread
2. Take out two slices
3. Open the jar of Peanut Butter

Then you would fill in all of the details....Instead of just Open the bread...say, When making a Peanut Butter sandwich, you first open your favorite variety of bread. Then, you take out the two freshest slices...etc...etc....

*of course you could also apply these detailed directions to god of war....just make sure to explain all of the little things that non-gamers wouldn't know.

You should make it interesting to draw the reader in. Maybe you can start with an anecdote, a situation that happened to you or anyone else. Start if off like a little story about when you were playing God of War. Add interesting words and use great diction. Make it lively. Don't forget about a good thesis too.

There's no way to cover that in an essay and if you don't know how to tune a guitar then you probably shouldn't write an essay on how to play one. You would have to cover the strings, fretting, picking, chords, scales, etc which are very had to teach with only writing and it would end up being really long.

There is another tuner in my sources.

The main thing is to get your low E (6th string, the thickest one) in tune because you can tune the rest of your strings to that one. You want the 5th fret of your E string to sound the same as your open A string, The 5th fret of your A to sound the same as your D. 5th fret of D sounds the same as the open G.
