Since the aim of the informative essay is to acquaint the reader with some information without giving your personal comments on it, there's a wide range of topics you can choose from. Your best bet is to choose a topic you're really familiar with; that way it will be much easier to write your essay. I've been in class with people that wrote informative essays about everything from how to boil water to how to ride the bus to how to cheat at poker to how to make jello. What hobbies do you have? You could always write an essay about something having to do with a hobby. Just think about something you do frequently, maybe every day, and write about that. See the link below for a few suggestions. Most of them aren't that great, but maybe some of them would give you ideas for your own essay.

Prearing food, eating dinner, doing the dishes, changing the litter box, walking the dog. It can be about anything. Just has to be in very descriptive detail.
