How To Write Law Essays

Dustin Said:

im confused about how to write a essay to get into a summer law school?

We Answered:

It means exactly what it says. You are probably going to use a computer to write this, so it will be easy. Check to make sure your print margins are set to 1" on all sides (this is usually under the "File" and then "Print Setup" menu). Use a 12 point font (probably Times New Roman is a good choice). Write your 250 words. Select everything, and under "Format," select "Paragraph." You should be able to select double-space there. Then use regular, 8 1/2x11" paper.

If you're going to handwrite it, though, it will be a little trickier. Just follow the same formatting, but you will need to use lines to make sure everything is straight.

How to write a 3-page essay on criminal law?

We Answered:

What's your actual question? It can't just be on "criminal law," you teacher must have specified what you need to talk about. If she didn't, then it's very silly of her, however if that's the case try the site I've put in the sources section.

Jorge Said:

what is case law? and statues? (law essay)?

We Answered:

Hi G, Happy New Year to you - good move getting back into the studies my friend.

The explanations referenced in gentleman's Answer are good, but the definition of case law is inadequate as "case law" also includes ALL unreported decisions as well as reported ones, and both types can and are used by practitioners to support the case they represent.

The other items seem to be accurate and OK - but please be aware of plagiarism G - if you're going to quote any of these items in the hypertext links, please do so literatum (reproduced word for word as originally written).AND quote your source precisely - you get lots of good marks for so doing.

The best thing to do is put these items into your own words and still make reference to them in your list of sources.

I STRONGLY recommend you do not copy these works/definitions without attributing the source - it's so easy to get caught out, and your reputation with the marker AND the educational instution you attend will drop like a brick.

Play safe - put a little thought into it, and your marks will soar. I promise.

Law Question?

We Answered:

In law, a precedent or authority is a legal case establishing a principle or rule that a court may need to adopt when deciding subsequent cases with similar issues or facts. The term may also refer to the collective body of case law that a court should consider when interpreting the law. When a precedent establishes an important legal principle, or represents new or changed law on a particular issue, that precedent is often known as a landmark decision. How to write an interpretation of Hummurabis code of Laws?

We Answered:

Find a law 1-10 and give an example of some of the laws.

MY EX: (not sure if its one to ten. DO NOT COPY)

An eye for an eye (something like that)

If you were to live under the Code of Hammurabi, whatever was done onto others, was done on yourself. For example, if you accidently poke someone's eye out, they would take a stick and dig out your eye. If you accidently used a sharp rock on someone's hand and cut it off, they would cut your hand off.

----Not only that, since its a whole essay, you should probably find examples in history of actual people who had been taken by the lawy. Basically, how the law was enforced.
