You need as many essays as the application requires. It all depends on the college. For example, St. John's College requires about five different essays while the Common App only requires about two.

The SAT essay is not the same as the application essay. The SAT essay is used for grading the SAT. The other for admission.

The rest like Charater and Personal Qualities as well as things like Extra curriculars don't need to be in essay form. At least I don't think so, but you should check with your college to confirm.

My advice to you is make sure all spelling, grammer, and puncuation is correct because they will check this with a fine tooth comb. Secondly, vary sentence length and type mixing in simple sentences all the way up to complex compound sentences. Thirdly, if you do option A do not bad mouth the other school, but be honest. Fourthly DO NOT use the words That (redundent), I or You (college writting should not have these words, instead use one, who, whom, etc.). Hope this helps

When your write a essay in college ALWAYS plan on it being 5 paragraphs, double spaced. Each paragraph should be at-least 5 sentences with a clearly stated thesis.

Do not focus on how many pages it is, just that it meets those requirements. Sometimes you can write less, but its worth the extra effort if you care about getting a good grade because writing is so subjective. Also, remember that is this formal writing. Do not use any contractions or personal indicators like "I think".

some schools have their own applications with their own essays
some schools dont have essays but rather short-answers
some states or regions have a collective app like University of California app or ApplyTexas app
each app will have different topics
ex.) Apply Texas app for UT austin has 2 apps: write about influential person in your life; write about an issue that has importance to you have how you can relate it to yourself, family, generation, etc.

It helps to speak English, but it's not required by most companies, and don't expect to make more than a dollar or two a page - the companies keep almost all the money. So you could sign up with one of the big essay mills, or try starting your own, but they have the advantage of being in the Philippines where it's really hard to charge them with anything legal.
