well it wouldn't be an autobiography if it is about food, because an autobiography is a true story about yourself. anyway, you can write about your favorite food, why you like it, different types of it and ways to make it, where it is most commonly found etc. for organization of the essay, the first paragraph should be an introduction about the food you chose, the other paragraphs are up to you, for the last paragraph you should conclude, by summarizing what you have previously stated in all of the other paragraphs. good luck

You want to grab their attention.

Say skateboarding was central to your life, that's what defines you, then you'd want to start with a descriptive, attention-getting opener:

"The wind rips through my hair as I gain velocity. The uneven tile beneath my wheels shakes my deck violently, forcing me to dig into the grip tape for balance. My heartbeat quickens as I approach the stair rail, bending slightly at the knee I kick my board up, defying gravity as I attempt a rail slide. That was the first time I broke my elbow. The security guards were not pleased as they escorted me away from the fountain at the center of the mall, but skateboarding as always been important to me and I have always been willing to risk injury for those moments." I just improvised that, but you have to grab them right away and then work from there.

I imagine if Jack Kennedy had written an autobiography about the Cuban Missile Crisis he would have begun at the most intense moment then caught us up.

First sentence: name and age. First paragraph: who you are today.
Second paragraph: parentage. Start by saying when and where you were born, and who your parents are. Then talk abotu them.
Third paragraph: early years: collected stories from before your memory.
Fourth paragraph: childhood.. Your earliest memories
continue in that way. You will need about 12 paragraphs.
Last paragraph: similar to first paragraph.

Most autobiographies will have several themes, so just pick the one that stands out the most. What has the author focused on throughout the book? Love and loss; addiction; redemption, etc.

For example, not too long ago I read Anthony Kiedis's autobiography, and the theme that stands out the most in that is the consequences of addiction.
