Paragraph 1.

Opening sentence, something like "A person's identity is the essence of who they really are. Thousands of biographies are on library shelves, and it's often taken for granted; they're glimpses into a person's very soul. Even then, the books often come up short on truly outlining who a person is, merely highlighting their accomplishments and goals." It depends on whether the essay is about your identity, or what identity really means. Make sure to write a thesis statement, plainly outlining what it is that the rest of your paper is about.

Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 (less or more paragraphs depending on length of essay). Identity in different cultures, origins of the word, identity in pop culture, identity at different age groups, how people identify with each otheretc. or who you are, what identity means to you, how you identify in culture, etc.

Paragraph 5. Sum up what you've written about identity. How it affects different people, cultures, age ranges, how people identify with each other, etc. Then write a conclusion statement, maybe something like "Identity is something difficult to understand, yet, it is fundamentally ingrained in all people."

Since this is a personal reflection, you might do well with relating an experience with researching, oral presentation, and term-work, and describe how you felt in each instance.

What was the context? How did you do on these tasks? what were the results? what were your strengths? weaknesses? comments on your performance? and most important, what were the lessons you learned?

They are looking for you to right an essay reflecting your thoughts of the book. So whatever the topic is, main points, plot, etc. you should reflect on it and how it relates to you, inspires you, could be important to society, etc.

Reflective Essay
It is astonishing that my journey through English class has come to a close. My path has been a smooth and enjoyable one, and it is with great sadness that I begin to gather up the ends of my literary education. I know that I will continue to grow and develop as a critical reader/thinker throughout my life, but I will miss the educational structure that has shaped my literary understanding for the last year.
I consider my greatest strengths as a writer to be my insightfulness and creative slant with which I approach my work. I understand most styles of writing and I enthusiastically grasp the text with an eagerness to understand and relate to it.
