How To Write A 500 Word Essay

Yolanda Said:

How to write a 500 word essay describing extra curricular activities career goals and financial situations?

We Answered:

Divide your essay into the three parts and decide the approximate number of words you would use for each. Since financial situation will probably take the least, you might write that part first and then divide the other two between the remaining words. Ones extracurricular activities as well as career goals will be more important than stating your financial situation unless the scholarship is one that is targeted for those who are the most in need of financial aid. It is also beneficial to point out extra curricular activities that relate to your career goal such as editing the yearbook when you want to be a journalist.
Try to point out the extra curricular activities that relate to scholastic achievement such as editing the yearbook as well as participating in humanitarian groups that assist others. Elaborate on your career goals rather than just stating that you want to be a scientist, for example.

I have to write a 500 word essay on inclusion, with particular reference to Gifted and Talented children.?

We Answered:

G+T children can be very disruptive when they're bored stiff. While within a class it is usual to offer differentiated teaching to suit the variety of learning styles and levels within the group, some children fall outside what is easily managed during the lesson by the teacher.
Those children who fall below the cohort are usually well catered for by the various SEN systems operated by the SENCO. However, provision for exceptionally able children is less formalised and often less well implemented. This means that they can become disillusioned, disengaged and disruptive.
There's also the difficulty of being very bright academically but not emotionally adept to suit. Often adults make the mistake of seeing a very able child and expecting their other areas of development to be on a par - which often isn't the case. This can lead to the child being thought of as difficult when they're not really so different from their peers, just that what's expected of them is out of line with reality.

KS2 is where G and T really gets underway, though most schools make provision for it at KS1. Approaching SATs time there may be opportunity to provide extension work for a child who is already on top of the syllabus. If they're already fully able and more practice is counter productive, then covering something else will help avoid them turning off. For example, there's always something you can learn in IT or languages.

if your teacher asked you to write a 500 word essay...?

We Answered:

If the teacher asks for 500 words, stick as close to that as you can. Yes, feel free to go over but not by more than 75 words. Remember, your teacher has to grade A LOT of papers so if everyone were to go over, that would make for quite a headache for him or her.
I also know teachers who have said to write a two page essay and that if you go on to a third page, they will not read it and you will only be graded on the first two.

How can i write a 500 word+ essay on Why should we honor veterans?

We Answered:

Well first you give an intro thats is like: People often forget about the people who serve our country: list all the bad things that often happen to veterans, homelessness etc. then put your thesis: we should honor them because blah blah blah word count: 150
Then you have a main paragraph where you list all the reasons for honoring veterans as elaborately as you can. word count: 200
And then you conclude with: Because of all these reasons veterans should be honored, but people often forget. Thats why its good we have holidays and memorials, and support groups for veterans, cause what they did should not be forgotten, they did it for us. yada yada word count:150
