What score would my essay earn on the GED test and why?We Answered:
Well for being home schooled your grammar and writing are quite good. Much better than the majority of people I know and they actually passed high school. As for what your mark would get, I'm not entirely sure, because I don't know how strict they are. How many words is it supposed to be? From what I see here you've got around 500 words. Is that all they want?
Oftentimes for essays schools prefer you have anywhere between 1000-2000 words. But if this is all they want, then it should be alright.

What are the topics for the Indiana 2010 GED essay? We Answered:
No you do not get to pick the essay topic. It is a standardized test so Indiana does not have a separate set of topics. My topic was stupid and I just bsed the entire thing and got 760 out of 800.Stay on topic, set your essay up with an introduction paragraph with a thesis, try to come up with three points (stated in your thesis) and then make each point into a separate paragraph with examples/explanations and finally finish it with a closing paragraph which wraps everything together and you should be fine. My essay was not long it was short and got my point across, these topics really are not things to write page long essays about, most if not all of the time they are simple opinion questions (mine was: Many people collect things what would you collect and why). You can make something up as long as it seems reasonable it is not like they are going to track you down and make you prove that what you wrote is true to you. I went into this entire thing without studying (like I decided a week before that I wanted to take it registered on Friday and took it on Monday and Tuesday).

What is your question?Oscar Said:
GED Essay?We Answered:
The question I got was " Who is a great example of a leader?" I think it was pretty easy. I did not write in cursive. I scored pretty high on it. I think the main thing for them was to see if you knew how to write an essay (5 paragraph essay). They do take off points for spelling and so on, so I suggest keeping it simple and demonstate all the mechanics (thesis statement, Intro, 3 supporting paragraphs, and conclusion)of an essay.Good Luck!

is grammar efffect the scores of writing essay in ged. how many mistakes we can do in writing essay. plz repl?We Answered:
"is" isn't capitalized, "efffect" is mispelled, I don't know who ged is, but imagine you mean the G.E.D., and please is not spelled "plz". If this is an example of how well you write, you should consider more writing time prior to taking the test. How are the GED Language Arts, Writing Test essays scored?
Since January 2002, GED Language Arts, Writing Test (Part II) essays have been scored on a 4-point holistic scale.
Two trained GED essay readers read each essay and give a score based on the overall impression. The overall impression of each GED test paper is based on five areas:
Does the paper respond to the assigned prompt—did the candidate use the topic on the test?
Can the reader see or follow an organized plan for development?
Are there specific and relevant details to support the paper's focus?
Are the conventions of language (grammar, usage, and mechanics) generally followed?
Is the word choice precise, varied, and appropriate?
The two GED readers’ scores are then averaged. If the essay receives a score of 2 or higher, the essay score is combined with the multiple-choice score to form a composite. If a GED candidate receives a score of 1 or 1.5 on the essay, there will be no composite score, and the candidate must retake both the essay and multiple-choice portion.
Note that individual essay scores are not reported. On the composite score, the multiple-choice score results represent 65 percent of the composite, and the essay score represents 35 percent.
GED essay readers may not be more than one point apart in their scoring. In those cases where the readers are more than one point apart, the Chief Reader for the GED scoring site will set the score by agreeing with the reader whose score follows the GED Testing Service scale.
