There is nothing unethical about asking for help. It is always a good idea to have someone read your essays, as long as they are not writting them for you. If you can find someone who speaks french to review it for you, go for it.

Remember with age you have to say J'ai and not Je suis.
For some day you should say Un jour. I want is je veux. The rest you should know. Put it together and write it yourself.

I suggest you write an essay on how many French terms are used in conversational American language (au pair, faux pas, etc.) and how many American terms are used in conversational Francais (first class, OK, etc.)
