I'm not sure what you mean when you say grade 4 and 9, but to write good ficitonal essays, you need to read a lot of books, mostly acclaimed novels which are also literature masterpieces that suit your style of writing. If you have yet to develop your style of writing, it helps to read all sorts of books in all genres from romance to mystery. It will help your vocabulary and grammar as you read along.

For non-fictional essays, you need to expand your horizon and learn a lot more about the world, and about different issues that you know. It also has to do with the choice of words you use to represent what you want to say. :)

I find samlearning.com is great! Our school provides us with logins and such, and they can set us homework on there. I'm not sure if you can accesss it from not having a school login, but it would be worth it! It lets you revise with java screens, and tests you. It covers the whole curriculam. ((I use the UK one but there is an American one etc)

I find the BBC websites to be really useful as they cover the curriculam and certain skills. For example you might find this useful: http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/wr…

You don't need any login for BBC to view the help. (;

Also, google works sometimes, for example this site http://www.infoplease.com/homework/writi… is one of the first ones that come up but, I have used it and it really helps.

You may not have to write essays as you do in your English class, but you do use those skills. If a patient asks you a question (e.g., "Why am I taking this medicine"), it would be dangerous to answer without looking up the answer. It would be equally negligent to defer every question to the doctor. Also, you will have to write patient progress reports at the end of each shift so you'll need to know how to write well enough to be understood.
